Our waterfront cottage is situated on a small private lot of just under an acre. The bay in front of the cottage is very quiet and free of large boats, so you can enjoy lots of privacy. The shoreline has other cottages and residences but mostly are retired or small families. The waterfront is sandy and goes out for a long way before it gets deep,so children can enjoy the water. There are 3 bedrooms with two double beds and one single; all have new curtains and furniture. The western view down the lake is a magnificent sight to relax and enjoy during the spring/summer and autumn holiday season. There is a large dock to swim off and a floating dock to swim too, which is great fun for the children to play on and sunbath. The garden has lounge chairs to relax with and a picnic table to have lunch on, at the back of the cottage we also have garden furniture to enjoy and an assortment of children's water toys and games.
Inside the cottage we have a TV and video, radio and one sofa and two chairs. The cottage has a woodstove that is childsafe on the outer casing and electric heat, in all the rooms. The kitchen has a fridge, stove, microwave and pots and pans for cooking. Outside we have a barbeque with propane and a dryer for clothes.The bathroom has a toilet, vanity unit and shower.There is a sunroom which is where most of the toys are kept and a mudroom for shoes and wet clothes. There is ample parking in the driveway, and the road to our cottage is quiet so one can park there and not worry about traffic or neighbors.
There is lots to do in the local area of Magnetawan, swimming, horse riding, fishing, bike riding and beautiful scenic walks, with an abundance of wildlife. There is a local store, pub, restaurant, take-out food restaurant and a hardware store. People are friendly and helpful with some great summer programs for children to get involved in. North Bay, Huntsville and Parry Sound, are the major towns/cities of this region, and are just 75Kms or 40 minutes away. Here you will find the normal city ammenties of threatres, shops, cinemas, hospitals and banks.
